While the Alexa App is being utilized in many homes with Amazon Echo and Amazon Echo Dot, we are considering its implications to support learning in the K-12 classroom. As part of this project, we’ve placed multiple Echo Dots in four school districts in Idaho: Moscow School District, Mullan School District, Nezperce School District, and Potlatch School District. This presentation will share how teachers and students from these school districts are interacting with Alexa including the benefits and challenges. We’ll share ideas for using the device in a K-12 setting and demonstrate Alexa in action. Participants will have the opportunity to interact with Alexa as well.
